Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

1. Manuscript Structure

  • Title: Brief, descriptive title.
  • Abstract: Concise summary (150–200 words) covering objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: 3-6 keywords.
  • Main Text: Structured as Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.
  • Acknowledgments: Any funding or support disclosures.
  • References: Complete list formatted in your journal’s referencing style.

2. Formatting and Style

  • Font: Standard font like Times New Roman, size 12.
  • Spacing: Double-spaced text.
  • Figures and Tables: Each on a separate page with legends; submit high-resolution images.
  • References: Use a specific style (e.g., Vancouver or APA).

3. Ethics and Compliance

  • Originality: Work must be unpublished and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any conflicts.
  • Ethical Approval: Required for studies involving humans or animals.
  • Data Sharing: Authors should provide data on request and may be required to deposit it in a public repository.

4. Submission Requirements

  • Document Format: PDF or DOCX.
  • Supplementary Files: Include figures, tables, and data files as separate files.
  • Pre-Submission Checklist: Ensure all elements meet journal standards before submission.

5. Peer Review Process

  • Type of Review: Describe review type (e.g., double-blind).
  • Timeline: Typical review process duration.
  • Revision Policy: Authors are given specific timeframes for revisions.

6. Publication and Copyright

  • Open Access: Specify if content will be open-access or behind a paywall.
  • Licensing: Describe licensing (e.g., Creative Commons).
  • Copyright Transfer: Authors may need to transfer copyright or grant licenses upon acceptance.
